CARBON CREDIT PROJECTS

VERRA 2.png

Verified Carbon Standard (VCS)

The Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) is the world’s most widely used voluntary greenhouse gas (GHG) program, ensuring the credibility of emission reduction projects. SFG is the only Verification and Validation Body (VVB) in Sri Lanka eligible to conduct validation and verification of carbon credit generation projects under the VCS framework. Our team of experts conducts thorough audits in various sectors, including:

  • Energy (Renewable and Non-Renewable)

  • Agriculture, Forestry, and Other Land Use (AFOLU)

These projects are validated and verified against the stringent requirements of the VCS, ensuring accurate reporting, credibility, and compliance with global standards. Our comprehensive validation and verification services help your projects meet both voluntary and regulatory requirements.

Plan Vivo Standard

The Plan Vivo Standard is a globally recognized framework for community-based land-use and forestry projects that deliver long-term environmental and socio-economic benefits. Projects under Plan Vivo focus on sustainable development goals such as poverty alleviation, environmental restoration, and capacity building, with Plan Vivo Certificates representing verified climate benefits from carbon sequestration, avoided emissions, or other ecosystem services.

SFG is the only official Verification and Validation Body (VVB) in Sri Lanka authorized to conduct validation and verification under the Plan Vivo Standard. Our services ensure that projects contribute meaningfully to sustainable development goals.

As an accredited VVB, we offer:

  • Validation and Verification Services: Rigorous evaluation of project design and ongoing verification to ensure projects align with Plan Vivo standards, comply with carbon rights, engage stakeholders, manage risks, and deliver accurate climate and environmental benefits.

  • Microscale Project Validation and Verification: Specialized validation and verification for projects generating less than 10,000 tCO2 per year, ensuring they meet Plan Vivo’s standards and can confidently issue Plan Vivo Certificates.

These services ensure Plan Vivo projects are compliant with international standards, credible, and impactful, contributing to global climate change mitigation while supporting local communities.
