ISO 14064-1: Provides guidelines for the quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and removals at the organizational level. Our verification ensures that your company, facility, or group’s GHG inventory is accurate, transparent, and compliant with globally recognized standards, supporting effective emissions management and enhancing credibility with stakeholders.
ISO 14064-2: Provides guidelines for quantifying, monitoring, and reporting GHG emission reductions and removal enhancements at the project level. We validate and verify Renewable Energy, Agriculture, Forestry, and Other Land Use (AFOLU) projects, ensuring they meet international standards and contribute effectively to global climate goals
ISO 14067: Provides guidelines to quantify and report the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) across goods and services’ (products’) lifecycles. VERIFICATION PROCESS
The verification process at SFG follows the guidelines set out in ISO 14064-3, which ensures that all greenhouse gas (GHG) assertions are accurately verified and validated. We apply this rigorous and globally recognized methodology across all our ISO 14064-1, ISO 14064-2, and ISO 14067 verifications, providing consistent, transparent, and reliable results.
SFG is proud to be the first accredited Verification Body in Sri Lanka authorized to conduct verification under CORSIA for airlines worldwide.
The Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA) is the first global scheme in the compliance carbon market, setting a new standard for any industry or sector. Developed by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), CORSIA is designed to mitigate the environmental impact of the aviation industry by requiring airlines to offset their carbon emissions through the purchase of carbon credits from eligible projects.
The Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) is the world’s most widely used voluntary greenhouse gas (GHG) program, ensuring the credibility of emission reduction projects. SFG is the only Verification and Validation Body (VVB) in Sri Lanka eligible to conduct validation and verification of carbon credit generation projects under the VCS framework.
The Plan Vivo Standard is a globally recognized framework for community-based land-use and forestry projects that deliver long-term environmental and socio-economic benefits. Projects under Plan Vivo focus on sustainable development goals such as poverty alleviation, environmental restoration, and capacity building, with Plan Vivo Certificates representing verified climate benefits from carbon sequestration, avoided emissions, or other ecosystem services.
The Verra Plastic Waste Reduction Programme is designed to certify projects that effectively reduce plastic waste through collection and recycling efforts. This programme enables the issuance of Plastic Credits for projects that meet rigorous global standards.

The ZeroCarbon Hotel Stay Certification offers responsible travelers the opportunity to offset the emissions-related environmental impact of their hotel stays. This certification is designed specifically for the Hospitality and Tourism Industry, addressing the carbon footprint associated with energy consumption (fuel and electricity) and waste generation during an overnight stay.
Our co-proprietary WaterNeutral® Certification is designed to recognize businesses that have made significant, sustained efforts to manage and mitigate their water footprints. This certification is awarded to organizations that regularly quantify their water consumption and wastage, implement internal changes to minimize usage, and invest in medium to long- term replenishment projects that return equivalent amounts of water to natural bodies or provide clean water access to communities.
Our co-proprietary PlasticNeutral® Certification is designed to recognize businesses that have taken significant steps to manage and mitigate their plastic footprints. This certification can be awarded to any business entity, service, or product that quantifies its plastic usage, implements internal changes to reduce consumption, and offsets the remaining footprint by obtaining Plastic Credits from registered Plastic Recycling Projects.

CERTIFIED CONSCIOUS®

The CarbonConscious® certification recognizes organizations that perform comprehensive carbon footprint assessments to measure Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions from their operational activities. These entities must implement robust management programs to mitigate their carbon footprints, ensuring compliance with internationally accepted standards and guidelines.
The WaterConscious® certification distinguishes organizations that conduct thorough water audits to evaluate water distribution, consumption, and wastage. Certified entities must develop and maintain management programs to reduce, reuse, and recycle water in alignment with WaterConscious® Guidelines, the AWWA/IWA Water Audit Methodology, and the Georgia Water System Audits and Water Loss Control Manual.
The WasteConscious® certification is awarded to organizations that carry out waste audits following the UNIDO/UNEP Resource Efficient Cleaner Production Methodology and WasteConscious® Guidelines. These audits measure the waste generated by specific entities, products, services, or the entire organization, ensuring effective waste management practices.
The BiodiversityConscious® certification is designed for organizations that assess and actively manage the biodiversity within their operations and surrounding areas. Certified entities are required to sustain and enhance biodiversity through measures such as using native species for landscaping, preventing the introduction of non-native species, and conserving natural protected areas, following the BiodiversityConscious® Guidelines and Green Globe Environmental Indicators.
